Bali Prison Service

I am responsible. When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of A.A. always to be there. And for that: I am responsible.

AA Responsibility Pledge (pp. 18 AA approved pamphlet, “The AA Group…where it all begins”)

Getting involved in service is a great way to strengthen your recovery. One of the ways that you may want to be involved in service in Bali is by visiting the local prison with a group of fellow AA members. If you are 1 year or more sober and you would like to be a part of sharing your experience strength and hope with Bali inmates, please email us at baliprisonservice [at] gmail [dot] com

What some AA’s have said about their prison service experience:

After attending the AA meeting at the prison in Bali a few times, I noticed that I felt a deep sense of gratitude for my sobriety and for my life

I got sober in prison. I go back to remind me of where I have come from and how lucky I am. I feel a deep connection to the inmates

Doing a meeting in the prison showed me that we are all equal. We may not have the same stories, but the underlying feelings and thoughts are the same
